RFP Podcast Episode #146 – “Being A Clutch Dad”

from Relentless Forward Progress with Mike Ubaldini · host Mike Ubaldini

“What does clutch look like?” – Lucas Jadin I’ve mentioned my journal before. It is a big, 5-subject notebook, yes, I still write in one 😊, that I put my thoughts, actions, progress, and notes in throughout the day and review them once a week, typically on Saturday. I reflect on the progress I made, the things I did well, joyful moments, and of course, my challenges and how I grew through them. Inside this journal, usually at the subject dividers, you know those tan/manila colored things that separate the subjects, I have a bunch of print out, other notes, quotes, and documents that have memorable stories, or pieces of wisdom that I’ve kept over the years. I review these papers once a quarter, roughly, give or take. While traveling this week, I finished a book I was reading and didn’t bring a new one to start. So, I decided to revisit these pieces of wisdom so to speak, and did I get some nuggets. Received a number of ideas for blog articles, podcasts, and things to share. Once specific note was the quote above by Lucas Jadin. I was fortunate to have Lucas as a coach and mentor 2 years ago, and we still connect every now and again to gain some guidance. Next to the quote, on the piece a paper from one of our sessions, was “What does being a clutch dad look like.” I remember that conversation we had, and I remember writing that down. At that time, and now, being a clutch husband, father, and human being are critical to me. Now, as my daughters are in their teenage years, being a clutch father, is an incredibly high priority. Today’s impromptu podcast shares my thoughts on this topic. You can find out more about Lucas, Joshua Medcalf, and Jamie Gilbert – all coaches and three people that have had a great impact on my growth the last few years at http://www.t2bc.com/.
