Often when I am reading, listening to a podcast or speaking with someone, they say something that speaks directly to me. Whether it is an issue they are dealing with, an obstacle they’ve overcome, or a recent hill they just climbed. I believe that we all want to understand others and be understood ourselves. In today’s podcast I share a cool little story of someone, whom I’ve never met, I related to on two different occurrences. Great Nuggets from Sam Harris in two of Tim Ferriss’ Books: “Tribe of Mentors” – “Whenever I feel overwhelmed, I complain to my wife about it. After listening patiently for about 30 seconds, she generally tells me to STFU. Then I meditate or work out.” “Tools of Titans” – “On one level, wisdom is nothing more than the ability to take your own advice. It’s actually very easy to give good advice. It is very hard to follow the advice that you know is good…..If someone came to me with my list of problems, I would be able to sort that person out very easily.”
