RFP Podcast Episode #88 – A book review, sort of!
from Relentless Forward Progress with Mike Ubaldini · host Mike Ubaldini
I drafted some thoughts on a book I just started reading, “Strong Fathers Strong Daughters,” by Meg Meeker, M.D. Today – I am going to just add them in this section and I am going to share my heart. Possibly an extension of blog from yesterday, about kids, this one specifically about daughters. “Strong Fathers Strong Daughters” by Meg Meeker, M.D. – Story about this girl that had a good freshman year in college but her sophomore year became a bit of a wild child, drinking too much, partying too much, so much so she got thrown out of school and had to take her things and as Dr. Meeker says, “her disappointments and go back to live w/ her parents.” When she arrived at home, she got an unexpected reaction from her father, he asked, “Are you okay?” – this is how Dr. Meeker tells the story of the experience from the daughter’s side: “I knew he loved me. Sure, he was proud of me, but that was always on the periphery of our relationship. He didn’t let his disappointment or anger ever supersede his love.”
