RH 5.27.26 | Russia: Kyiv Threats, Baltic Spoofing, Crypto Squeeze

from The Restricted Handling Podcast

👉 Subscribe to The Restricted Handling Podcast  https://www.restrictedhandling.com/  This episode digs into Russia's latest threats against Kyiv's so-called decision-making centers and why the diplomatic response matters. Nearly 50 countries at the United Nations pushed back against Moscow's intimidation of embassies and diplomatic missions in Ukraine's capital. Germany, Norway, the Netherlands, and the EU summoned Russian diplomats, which is basically the international affairs version of getting called into the principal's office, but with more sanctions and fewer Capri Suns.  The brief also covers Belarus, where officials claimed 116 Ukrainian drone incursions in a week. The real concern is not a Belarusian ground invasion. The bigger issue is whether Russia is building a pretext to use Belarusian territory to threaten Ukraine's western supply routes, including the road and rail links that connect Kyiv to Poland and the rest of Europe. That is the kind of quiet logistics story that does not always grab headlines, but it can shape the war.  We also cover Europe's response, including NATO defense planning for Latvia and Estonia, the new UK-Poland defense and security treaty, and GCHQ's warning that Russia is scaling up hybrid activity against the UK and Europe. Cyberattacks, sabotage, assassination plots, disinformation, critical infrastructure pressure, it is all on the menu.  On the economic front, Britain sanctioned Russian crypto networks and financial infrastructure, including the A7 network, which UK authorities say moved more than $90 billion in 2025. That is not pocket change. That is the financial plumbing of Russia's war economy, and London is trying to clog the pipes.  Also inside: Ukraine's six-month battlefield window, Russia's aviation restrictions near Moscow, the Syzran refinery shutdown, Putin's modern political commissars, property pressure on Russian emigrants, Kazakhstan tiger diplomacy, and Moscow's pressure on Armenia over its EU ambitions.  👉 Subscribe to The Restricted Handling Podcast  https://www.restrictedhandling.com/  Get the daily intelligence brief Ryan and Glenn read covering Russia, China, Iran, North Korea, the Middle East, geopolitics, sanctions, military and intel operations.
