Riaan Cruywagen celebrates 50 years in broadcasting in 2015 – the first 10 years on radio, and the past 40 years on television. He is still the longest serving TV news anchor in South Africa.His broadcasting career started during his student days due to a bursary that he received from the SABC. He was required to broadcast from the Cape Town studios over the weekends and during the university holidays to gain experience. He did continuity shifts at Radio Good Hope (DJ / Presenter) and he read regional news for the Afrikaans Service as well as taking part in radio serials for Springbok Radio.Guy McDonald caught up with Riaan on Good Hope FM's 50th Birthday to reminisce about the good ol' days
