In what was the shock of the Champions League quarter-finals, Arsenal delivered a commanding 3-0 first-leg victory over Real Madrid at the Emirates. Midfielder Declan Rice was the standout performer, scoring two exceptional direct free-kicks —his first-ever in professional football. This also made him the first player in tounament's history to score multiple direct free-kicks in a knockout stage game.
