Rich Novek - Rich “IN” Christ

I started out very early in my walk with God by reading a lot of books by many of the "deeper life" Christian teachers.  After reading the accounts of these men I developed a desire for knowing God that was far beyond the level of anyone I saw around me.  It was during this time a good friend and mentor prescribed to me the following prayer; He said to me, Rich, if you really want ALL that God has for you in this life then just pray this prayer. "Lord, bring me to the end of myself and give me a revelation of who I am IN Christ!"  That was in 1983.  And as I prayed that prayer for the next 3 years God was more than faithful to take me up on my request. I stopped praying the prayer after three years, only because the trials became so intense I saw no possible way that I could continue. After many years of waiting on God and because I saw the trials as coming from the hand of a punishing God and not a loving Father, I became completely disillusioned with anything having to do with God.  So in 1997 I walked away from everything having to do with God, the church, Christianity, or the Bible...or at least I thought I did.  I went right back to my pre-Christian "70's" lifestyle, which included drinking and carousing.  By the time I went through my divorce in 2001 I was so beaten down I had to look up six feet to tie my shoes. It was during this lowest point, where I was living only for myself, that God revealed to me the two foundational truths which over time, would completely transform the way I would forever look at God, myself, and others. And so after a lifetime of trials, testing's, brokenness, and pain...I NOW have only one desire, which is to share this same powerful revelation of Christ IN us with as many as is humanly possible. http://www.richinchristnow.com/
