Richard Arnold: US Correspondent on suspected hacking attack from Iran to seize control of US water infrastructure

from The Mike Hosking Breakfast · host Newstalk ZB

The US was the victim of cybersecurity breaches over the weekend.  It's believed that Iranian hackers accessed computer systems monitoring water infrastructure in several US states, disabling alarms and decreasing water pressure in an attempt to contaminate the pipes with groundwater.  Although no culprit has officially been identified, President Trump took aim at Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, suggesting that Walz was behind the hacking.  US Correspondent Richard Arnold told Mike Hosking that the President's comments are 'absurd' - and that US intelligence feared this is how Iran would respond to a war in the Middle East.  LISTEN ABOVESee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
