Rick Byrd - Former Belmont University & College Basketball Hall of Fame Coach On Treating Others With Respect, Building Great Teams, & Sustaining Excellence

#80: Coach Rick Byrd is the former Belmont University men’s basketball head coach. During his time coaching he won over 805 games as a head coach, which ranks 12th all time in NCAA Division 1 basketball. In 2021 he was inducted into the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame and has been the recipient of the prestigious John R Wooden Legends of Coaching Award, as well as many other highly regarded awards. Under his leadership Coach Byrd led Belmont to 8 NCAA tournaments, 17 conference championships, and consistently had victories over teams like North Carolina, UCLA, Cincinnati, Stanford, and more in his final 14 seasons.
