The introduction to the Weasleys is quite the saving grace for Harry after the Dursleys leave him alone at Kings Cross train station to be kidnapped by anyone while he tries to figure out where Platform 9 3/4 is. It also begins the single most important friendship of Harry's life (Ron Weasley of course), which I defend in this episode. They nearly throw down with Malfoy and his goons on the Hogwarts Express before meeting the future 3rd member of the golden trio Hermione Granger. In The Sorting Hat, all 3 of our main characters get sorted into Gryffindor.
