Rifle, CO - President James A Garfield Hates Mondays

Welcome the Rifle, Colorado, where residents embrace their past and shake hands with their future!  Founded in 1882, the town is located along Rifle Creek near it's mouth on the Colorado River.  The first major industry was cattle and sheep ranching due to the arid conditions in the area.  In 1972, Rifle was host to a massive art installation called the Valley Curtain.  It was a massive orange curtain stretched across the Rifle Gap.  We were not impressed.  Take a listen and find out just how unimpressed we were!  We hope you enjoy our little trip to Rifle!Small Town News--whose headline is it, anyway? @SmallTownNewsImprov
