Right to be, child of God (John 1: 6-14)

John declares the right of all people who receive Jesus, that they are children of God. This is not just a whim, or a fantasy, or an emotion but it is our right before God to be called children of God. In this section we see that John the Baptist is not the Light, he is not the Messiah and there is no hope found in him, but as his role as God's prophet, he is the signpost, the one who points to He who is the true Messiah, which is Jesus Christ. We also come to understand how someone becomes a child of God and how this birth takes place. Praise God that we have a sure hope in Jesus our Savior and outside of Him, there is no other who can give us the right to be called children of God.
