Righteousness (Right Standing with God) thru Faith

IN THIS broadcast: This broadcast answers a question about whether Paul’s discussion of the judgement on man because of sin conflicts with the teachings of Jesus Christ that we should not judge others lest we be judged. The book of Romans in Chapter 1, describes the wrath of God on people who did not receive the law of Moses, but know innately right from wrong, but choose to do wrong anyway (the Gentiles). Romans Chapter 2 describes the people who received the law of Moses but choose to do wrong anyway. Romans Chapters 3 and 4 show that even if you follow the law of Moses, you are not in right standing with God except through faith in Jesus Christ. It is faith in Jesus Christ that gives us righteousness (right standing with God). Regardless of how wicked we have been, once we believe in Jesus Christ, we are righteous. The Holy Spirit begins to work on our character to smooth out our rough edges and transform us into the likeness of Jesus Christ. We do not change with our own strength of will, but thru the work of the Holy Spirit. We are saved by faith, not because of our actions. ABOUT US: Welcome to the Emerging Temple Broadcast.
