Rightness & Righteousness

Food offered to idols does not at first hearing sound to be a very relevant topic, but this message explores how very relevant it's application is. It explores how being “right” is not the same as being righteous. Some behaviors, while not sinful in themselves, can become sin when they cause a brother or sister to stumble. Modern applications include areas like alcohol, modesty, gluttony, and personal freedoms that may influence others’ weaknesses. The call is for believers to prioritize love over pride, willingly limiting their freedoms for the spiritual good of others and the unity of the church.
