Riley Cornelio’s New Role Experiment | Washington Nationals News

The Nationals are reimagining Riley Cornelio’s role as his rookie season winds down, experimenting with him as a starter, reliever, and even an opener to better understand his potential for 2027. Though his bullpen outings have been mixed, he’s shined in two recent opener appearances—three scoreless innings vs. the Padres and two scoreless frames vs. the Angels, striking out four. The team’s strategy? Use Cornelio’s flexibility to help other pitchers settle in, like Jake Irvin, while gathering data to shape his long-term role. The future is still up in the air—but the results so far are promising. Listen in comfort:Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
