Riley Greene Powers Tigers to Shutout | Detroit Tigers News

Riley Greene exploded for two solo homers and a season-high four hits, driving in four runs as the Detroit Tigers crushed the Cleveland Guardians 6-0. Framber Valdez anchored the pitching staff with seven strong innings, striking out three and holding Cleveland hitless after the second. The Guardians, still clinging to third in the AL wild-card race, couldn’t muster much offense—just three hits against Valdez and the bullpen. Greene’s early blasts gave Detroit an insurmountable lead, while Valdez’s dominance capped off his longest outing of the year. Despite Parker Messick’s career-high 12 strikeouts, it wasn’t enough to overcome Detroit’s firepower. With the series finale looming Sunday—Jackson Jobe vs. Gavin Williams—the stakes are high as both teams battle for positioning in the playoff hunt.
