It's Hot Monkey Boy Summer! We had Kong in the last month or so, and now it's time for the Apes. We kick off this series with a recap and review of Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011). Other than the canceled JF, this film sported talented actors including Andy Serkis, John Lithgow, Freida Pinto, David Oyelowo, Brian Cox, and Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy). With an 82% on Rotten Tomatoes, a 7.6/10 on IMDB, and $481.8M worldwide at the box office, it's no wonder this film kicked off the trilogy-turned-cinematic universe that's just released its fourth film.
