Rising from a Fall (Episode 7)

from Voice of Alignment Hosted by Seun Okikiola

God expects us to come to a place of perfection, where we stand in faith and remain standing despite all the temptations, trials, or afflictions (Matthew 5:48, Ephesians 6:13). However, God also understands that as believers, we are work-in-progress. He expects us to be perfect, but He understands that there is a journey to perfection. 2 Corinthians 3:18 sheds some light on this by saying, “But we all, with unveiled faces, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.” When we read Matthew 5:48 and juxtapose it with 2 Corinthians 3:18, we will see that God expects us to be holy and perfect as He is, but also understand that there is a transformation process that we must go through, to become as perfect and holy as he is. So therefore, when the enemy comes with a temptation, a trial, or an affliction, there is a possibility that we may sometimes fall. We may fall by doubting God, we may fall by acting out of fear and not faith, we may fall by disobeying God, and we may fall in different ways. In this episode, you will learn three (3) important steps that you can take if you find yourself in a state where you have fallen short of the expectations of God, his will, or his commands. You will also learn about what you need to do in order to build your faith to a point where you rise again, stand, and keep standing.
