Rising From Skepticism

When you are in a season of doubt, how does that affect your relationship with God? In your season of doubt, does God become distant? Well, God certainly didn't become distant for Thomas. While the focus of this familiar story is usually put on Thomas and his doubt, the real actor in the story is God. Even though he doubts, through Christ, God reaches out to Thomas. God didn't leave Thomas; God came closer to Thomas. Isn't that what a Good Shepherd does? Isn't that who God has promised to be for us? When we doubt, we may be that one lost sheep that God has promised to come searching for!
