Dr. Deguire is a clinical psychologist in private practice. She grew up on the east coast,  the lone surviving child of unsettled and iconoclastic parents. At the age of four, she was third-degree burned on 65% of her body as the result of both maternal and corporate negligence. After the fire, she spent most of her childhood in the hospital, undergoing countless medical procedures.              Dr. Deguire attended Tufts University, graduating in 1985, Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa. She earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from Hahnemann/Widener University in 1990.  For the past fifteen years she has had a successful solo practice in Pennington, New Jersey. In addition to her private practice, Dr. Deguire is a dynamic, engaging speaker. She has appeared on television, on the radio, and have published in the Trenton Times on the subject of disfigurement.             Dr. Deguire has waited 50 years to write her life story.
