Rising Waters, Lasting Impact: Northern Michigan Flooding | Week of April 17, 2026 | Traverse City News Roundup

On this week's episode of Currently, we focus entirely on the devastating flooding that has impacted communities across Northern Michigan...and what comes next. Support for Currently comes from West Shore Bank, committed to the well-being of our community, along with the Fresh Coast Film Festival Traverse City and Old Town Playhouse, where community comes together in downtown Traverse City. Christal and Beth Milligan (Traverse City Ticker) provide an in-depth, start-to-finish breakdown of the damage left behind by recent storms. From washed-out roads and overwhelmed infrastructure to the ripple effects on local businesses and residents, they walk through what's happened, what's still unfolding, and what potential threats could still be ahead as the region recovers. Currently is a Compass Local podcast produced by Pancake Boy Productions.
