Rita Hester - The Murder and the Movement
from Bed Crime Stories Hosted by Bed Crime Stories
This is Bed Crime Stories - a weekly True Crime Podcast where your hosts pour themselves a drink and take turns telling one another the stories that keep them up at night! On this episode, Charlie kicks off our month-long Pride series and tells the equally infuriating and uplifting story of the murder of Rita Hester - a trans woman killed in 1998 and who's death inspired the first Transgender Day of Remembrance. True Crime and comedy... Sounds crazy, we know. We add humor to cope with the harsh reality of the stories we tell and alleviate some of the heaviness for our listeners. No one here at Bed Crime Stories are experts, just lifelong fans of all-things true crime.
