River Region Human Services- “Recovery and Beyond” luncheon

Dr. Jacqueline Dowdy, CEO of River Region called into the show to discuss National Recovery Month and raising awareness and understanding of mental and substance use disorders. National Recovery Month promotes the message that behavioral health is essential to overall health, prevention works, treatment is effective, and people recover. Dr. Dowdy invited the community to the luncheon with keynote speaker Dr. Lucille O’Neal (mother of Shaquille O’Neal aka Shaq) who has her own incredible story of recovery.
