On the veranda of the Goldhütte in the Siebertal, Sir Adam meets Sir Richard. After a few technical hiccups and a five-minute delay, the show finally finds its rhythm. A casual remark about Richard’s watch opens the conversation — and soon the two find themselves reflecting on time itself, and what it means to each of them.

Sir Adam invites Sir Richard to divide his life into chapters. Some are explored in depth, others only briefly, yet together they sketch a personal journey: from being a “good boy”, through a cosy phase of hoodies and skateboards, tales of hippies and leisure, moments of community and group life, a first job, a place of one’s own, and eventually family life.

Richard shares his thoughts on education and time, before Sir Adam reveals parts of his own past. Together they begin to philosophise about work, hobbies and enjoyment — and about how much control and freedom shape the way we live. When Adam asks whether Richard would change anything about his past, the question turns back on Adam himself, leading to a moment of quiet self-reflection.

From memories of the past, the conversation moves towards computers and smartphones and their impact on today’s world. Both acknowledge the importance of focus and mindfulness, and how essential they have become in their own lives. The discussion drifts from superpowers, talents and privileges to life goals and dreams, before circling back via influencers to computers and mobile devices once again. With a brief glance at our digital society, Richard speaks candidly about his own challenges — with digital media, with raising children, and ultimately with raising himself.

The dialogue deepens into a philosophical exchange about social media and the digital age, until Richard suddenly sends Adam’s thoughts in an entirely different direction with a reference to Will Smith — successfully distracting him once more. To close the evening, Richard performs his song “Life Keeps Rollin’ On” live on the veranda.
