Roanoke Anti-Violence Counseling Session, Member One Merger Vote Pending, Carolina Panthers Report To Camp

A Roanoke man has died as the result of a motorcycle crash on the Blue Ridge Parkway, near Painter Mountain Road, in Rockbridge County. A Roanoke anti-violence group held a community counseling session after a Patrick Henry High School student was killed. The Montgomery County School Board has voted to adopt a division-wide policy banning student cell phone use that will be effective immediately. Some employees and customers of Member One Federal Credit Union are not all that happy about a proposed merger with a Richmond-based financial institution. The "yay or nay" vote online runs through next Tuesday. The Carolina Panthers are among the 23 NFL teams that reported to training camp today. One of the most well-known Panthers ever - Inside Linebacker Luke Kuechly - has been retired since January of 2020. The Minnesota Vikings have agreed to a four-year extension with left tackle Christian Darrisaw.
