Rob McConnell Interviews - CAROLYN CJ JONES - Gates of Grace

In the past decade, award-winning author and photographer Carolyn CJ Jones has evolved from living on a sailboat to landlubber, married to single, drinking to sober, nurse to author/photographer/publisher and finally, from van living to homeowner. In the early 2000's, Carolyn traveled the Western States and Mexico for three years while photographing dozens of gates; she has hundreds of gate images from her journeys. Photos from her gate collection, along with accompanying prose, are published in her book Opening the Gates of the Heart: A Journey of Healing. This book is a reflection of Carolyn's own healing journey from feelings of worthlessness and deep despair to joy and peace. It offers hope and inspiration to the soul in the corner who struggles. Opening the Gates of the Heart is the winner of two recent Honorable Mention awards: one from the 2010 San Francisco Book Festival for photography/art, and one from the 2010 New York Book Festival for spirituality. Carolyn currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area and is occupied with publishing her book.
