Ele é pai de Lucas, rapaz de 32 anos com Síndrome de Down. Roberto Tiné também atuou no Grupos de Trabalho que deu origem ao texto final da Lei Brasileira de Inclusão; participou dos Grupos de Trabalhos sobre a Avaliação Biopsicossocial e Unificada da Deficiência, instituídos em 2020 e em 2023, que elaborou a proposta de instrumento, processo de implantação e implementação e formação e capacitação das equipes de aplicação da avaliação; e foi membro da Comissão Organizadora da 5ª Conferência Nacional dos Direitos da Pessoa com Deficiência. O Programa Resgatando a Cidadania é apresentado todo sábado, a partir do meio-dia, pela Rádio Folha 96,7FM, produzido e apresentado pelo radialista Domingos Sávio.
