ROBOCOP (1987) + SE7EN
from Aya Vs. The Big Boys Hosted by Aya Lehman, Kevin Cookman
This week: a double-dip of cop flicks to match our current times. Up first is a discussion of how Verhoven's infamous 1987 satire fails to rise to our very specific circumstances, after all, if the man could predict so much of what policing would become in 1987, how did he manage to not do anything about it? In much more detail, our duo gets into David Fincher's sick and twisted SE7EN, a move that Aya had somehow avoided seeing until now. Is it a swing or a miss for our number one Fincher stan?
