ROCK SOLID RADIO - HOW DO YOU REST? EPISODE 111

from Rock Solid Families · host Rock Solid Families

We can all share stories about how busy we are.  Sometimes life just gets crazy and like craving water when you are thirsty, we begin to crave rest when we are too busy.  The question is: Are we resting in God?  Are we resting in a way that will truly energize and restore us?  Most of us, even Christians, do a poor job of knowing how to rest.  We have allowed the world to shape our view of how we rest.  Maybe it's sitting on the couch and binge-watching tv.  Maybe it's not looking at any of your daily work for the day.  Maybe it's just doing your own thing with no one adding to your agenda.  Those all seem like helpful remedies for rest, but they are not complete.  True rest is found in what God calls, The Sabbath.  This is a day that we hold off on much of our physical work, but more importantly, we rest in the Lord. In other words, we take peace and give thanks to starting our week in Christ!  We hand him all of our blessings as well as all of our burdens.  We quiet our mind and hand Him the noise.  We make Him our priority.Merrill and Linda are guilty like most all people of just allowing the obligations of life to take over. During this show, they discuss the need to pull back and give the control and thanks to God.  Support the show#Rocksolidfamilies, #familytherapy,  #marriagecounseling,  #parenting,  #faithbasedcounseling, #counseling, #Strongdads, #coaching, #lifecoach, #lifecoaching, #marriagecoaching, #marriageandfamily, #control, #security, #respect, #affection, #love, #purpose, #faith, #affairs, #infidelity
