Rock Solid Radio - Just Because You Can Doesn't Mean You Should - Episode - 212

from Rock Solid Families · host Rock Solid Families

As Americans we have a more comfortable living standard than almost anyone in the world.  This doesn't mean that everyone in American is always comfortable in their living. It simply means that we have a greater opportunity and likelihood to live in comfort than most people around the globe.  While this is in many ways a great thing, we must also realize how it can quickly go bad.  When in the weight room every lifter knows that in order to get stronger you have to put more weight on the bar than you did on previous attempts.  You must challenge your muscles in order to stimulate their growth and greater strength.  The same goes for things like endurance, mental fortitude, pain thresholds, work capacity, etc...  If we are not challenged we will likely never develop our greatest potentials.  So, what does this have to do with parenting? It is likely that you are able to give your kids far more than the need.  You are able to provide comfort with money, accessories,  and opportunities with minimal effort on their part.  But, did you really give them what they needed in that moment.  Chances are, no!  You allowed them to skip the essential part of what they need. The development of desire, endurance, mental and physical toughness, humility, victory through the battle.  These are the things that you can't give your kids. They must be created through the fire of life.  This is the refining process of growing to our fullest potential.  Check out this week's show to see how you can truly help your kids develop the tools for a successful life. http://rocksolidfamilies.org#Rocksolidfamilies #familytherapy  #marriagecounseling  #parenting  #faithbasedcounseling #counseling #Strongdads #coaching #lifecoach #lifecoaching #marriagecoaching #marriageandfamily #control #security #respect #affection #love #purpose #faith #endurance #potential #needsvswants Support the show#Rocksolidfamilies, #familytherapy,  #marriagecounseling,  #parenting,  #faithbasedcounseling, #counseling, #Strongdads, #coaching, #lifecoach, #lifecoaching, #marriagecoaching, #marriageandfamily, #control, #security, #respect, #affection, #love, #purpose, #faith, #affairs, #infidelity
