Rockies Fall Again in Close One | Colorado Rockies News

The Rockies fell 8-7 to the Padres in another heartbreaker, extending their skid to eight games while San Diego notched their eighth straight win. Down 6-1 after four innings, Colorado battled back valiantly, cutting the lead to one run late — but San Diego’s closer sealed it. Early homers from Machado and Tatís Jr. set the tone, and the Rockies’ starter couldn’t recover, surrendering six runs in five innings. Still, there were sparks: TJ Rumfield’s 19-game on-base streak (second in franchise history) and Cole Carrigg’s seventh-inning blast. The team’s manager insists they’re right there — just need to win the close ones. Back at it Tuesday against a division rival, hoping to finally turn the corner.
