Rocky Hansen on his phenomenal freshman season so far at Wake Forest, how to reframe things and more
from Running In Circles · host Zach Hamilton
Today I have the pleasure of speaking with the freshman phenom from Wake Forest, Rocky Hansen. So far this cross country season Rocky has been tearing up the course with a 5th place finish at his first meet and a 6th place finish at the Nuttycomb invitational where he competed against the likes of Ky Robinson, Parker Wolfe, Drew Bosley, and other national contenders at the collegiate level. When I asked him why he was doing so good with the transition from high school to college he said that a big part of it is that his coaches preach that you shouldn’t set limitations on yourself just because of your age and he has certainly shown us that age doesn’t determine anything. He holds personal best of 8:32 in the 3200 and 3:58 in the mile. On this episode we discuss his opinions on when you should stop trick treating, the Wake forest cafeteria, his relationship with Panera, his sub four mile in high school and more.
