Rodney Baltimore interviews Ms. Dorrett Lindsay of the Friends of Elgeta Thompson ' An Evening of Gratitude fundraiser on Sunday May 31, 2026 at the Tamarac Colony West Golf & Country Club 6850 88th Avenue (Pine Island Blvd) at 4:30pm under the Patronage of Jamaica West Indies Consulate General Oliver Mair. Ms. Thompson a community advocate was responsible in creating the South Florida Jamaica Grand Independence Ball over 30 years ago and has now fallen to ill health. This event will feature international Tenor Steve Higgins, DJ Empress, Tallawah Mento Band with Colin Smith, Malachi Smith Dub Poet and others. Attire is Casual Elegance with a touch of Red.
