The conversation also highlights Europe's energy crisis and how countries such as Germany face even greater uncertainty with the forthcoming winter season. Germany's center-left government has now decided to ramp-up its coal-fired power production. Europe's climate obsessions, its emphasis on renewables and the Russian factor have led to a major crisis that will impact citizens and the continent's manufacturers. Mr. Helmer will present his message on how renewables undermine our energy security and how consumers, voters, and elected officials should apply principled market solutions to securing energy independence. Amid the energy crisis, the discussion will bring to the forefront U.S. President Joe Biden's visit to Israel and Saudi Arabia, the concerns regarding a nuclear-armed Iran, and the instability it will create in the Middle East and beyond. Mr. Helmer was a member of the following European Parliament committees — Industry, External Trade, Research and Energy and Employment and Social Affairs. He served as member of the ASEAN delegation. Mr. Helmer has worked with several multinational companies including Procter & Gamble, National Semiconductor, Reader's Digest, Tootal Group/ Coats Viyella, and Guinness PLC. He is one of the founding leadership members of the Jerusalem Leaders Summit.
