Roles People Live – The Inattentive PersonAired Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at 8:00 AM PST / 11:00 AM ESTThis week on It’s Your Ego—Stupid!, Dr. Nick will be looking intensely at people who are living in the role of the Inattentive Person. The Inattentive Person is oblivious to much of what is going on within and around them. Their attention is mainly held by that which allows them to experience arousal, excitement, and stimulation, particularly those connected to feeling pleasure. They live in a world of distraction, often going from one idea or task to the next before completing anything. When the novelty or enjoyment of an activity has worn off, they are done, even if the task isn’t. Boredom comes very easily to them. They do poorly with things requiring planning, organizing, or discipline, as they often require effort in the face of boredom. This can apply to their relationships, in which others often experience them as disinterested, insensitive, or reckless. Paying little attention to their needs if they fail to provide the Inattentive Person with excitement and pleasure. During this show, I’ll be drawing upon my book The Two Voices Within to look at the impact of lower ego vulnerability on the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors of those living in the role of the Inattentive Person. I’ll be looking at the “voice” of ego and the messages the Inattentive Person is experiencing and working with due to the mixture of their lower ego vulnerability energy and their mind. Many of them, the Inattentive Person is unaware of, but still exerting a powerful impact on their life and unfortunately others. I’ll also be looking at what their ego energy is doing to block the Inattentive Person from hearing the voice of spirit which is rooted in their Divinity. An inability to recognize the Love, Life, and Energy—God Is, within their being, due to the great distance being created by their ego energy.
