Roll$ is a Donna rapper who records as a solo project, but first gained popularity as a member of hip-hop collective TAO which mean Together As One. He is known for his big booming voice, speedy boom-bap raps, and soulful singing with influences spanning many different decades and sounds. This conversation was recorded last month, toward the end of the week that most of Texas experienced power outages. We talk about his recent music, negative stereotypes and love for his hometown, and hard times and resilience.
