Roll for Initiative: Sara Scheidies Directs "She Kills Monsters"!

We talked with Director Sara Scheidies about her upcoming production "She Kills Monsters" by Qui Nguyen which opens January 20th at the Chanticleer Community Theatre at the Hoff Center at PACE.  "She Kills Monsters" was published in 2011 and was nominated for the Drama Desk Awards, GLAAD Media Awards, and ITBA Patrick Lee Awards in 2012.  In 2013 it won the AATE Distinguished Play Award. Even if you are not a Dungeons and Dragons fan, you will easily find meaning in this play about a young girl who lost her sister and parents in a car accident.  She embarks on a quest to learn more about her sister who loved playing D&D. Through her grief, she begins to understand her deceased estranged sister better, and this journey also leads to a self-discovery about her own sexuality.  "She Kills Monsters" performances will be January 10-12 and 17-19th, 2025.  Get your tickets now!  Note: This show has language and situations not suitable for young children.
