Romans 1:21-32 - What Happens When We Forget God

from Pastor Mike Impact Ministries · host Michael L Grooms

Today, Sunday January 3 – Romans 1:21-32 – I heard someone say years ago, “When the plain sense of Scripture, makes common sense, seek no other sense.” For a fact, for the most part, the Bible means what it says, and says what it means, and it does not need a lot of interpretation. The Bible is a revelation, an unveiling of the heart and mind and ways of God. In these last verses of Romans 1, the Apostle Paul gives us one of the clearest pictures and descriptions in the Bible of what happens to a nation, to a society, to a culture, or even to an individual when we forget and push even the thought of God out of our minds and lives. When we know the true God, acknowledge God, love God and obey and live for Him, we will be blessed, happy and have a sense of order, security and peace in our lives and society. (Psalms 33:12) People often ask why things are getting so out of hand in America and in our world today. Here is why! Romans 1:28-32 “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.” So what can we do? How did Paul respond to this very same situation in the Roman world in which he lived? He prayed, he shared the Gospel, he encouraged the believers and people around him, he wrote letters, and he didn’t quit! We can do the same! Today, don’t lose heart but give your heart and life to make a difference in the world around you with God’s love and grace! God bless!!
