This series in Romans will be a long-term view of Paul’s fullest explanation of the Gospel. We’ll learn what the Good News is all about: Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. Going verse by verse, chapter by chapter, we will seek to unpack every layer of Paul’s words as he writes about who Jesus is, how his birth, death, and resurrection were an act of love, ultimate sacrifice, and so life giving for all believers. By better understanding humanities state of sin, we will better understand our need of a Savior, which will hopefully lead us to a heart of thanksgiving and appreciation for what God has done and is doing in our life. As Paul wrote both to the Jews and to the Romans, we can read and study the book of Romans as believers and nonbelievers. This series will reach believers, reminding them of the truths of the Gospel, while also reaching nonbelievers, explaining the Truth to them. “Paul wrote this letter in order to accomplish a few things. He wanted this divided community to become unified once again. For a practical purpose, he hoped that the Roman church could become a staging ground for his mission to go even further west, all the way to Spain.
