Romans: The Gospel for Everyone — Week 17 - Romans 8:1-12

Romans 8 opens with one of Scripture's most weighty declarations: there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus . This study examines the legal force of condemnation and why the verdict we deserved was carried instead by a sinless substitute. Verses 1-12 contrast a mind governed by the flesh, which leads to death, with a mind governed by the Spirit, which leads to life and peace. The message insists this life is not merely future but present, and that the same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead now permanently indwells the believer. The application asks what would change if we lived as though that were true—our decisions, our forgiveness, the fruit on display—and presses each hearer toward surrender.
