Romans: The Gospel for Everyone — Week 27 - Romans 12:3-8

Romans 12:3-8 turns to the transformed life's character: humility and service within the body of Christ. Drawing on Philippians 2, the message holds up Jesus, who took the form of a servant, as the pattern—if He washed feet, no service is beneath us. Paul's call to sober judgment is read two ways: neither overestimating our gifts in pride nor underestimating them in false modesty. Every believer is given at least one gift, and these gifts are deliberately different so the body depends on one another. The application is concrete: evaluate, dedicate, and activate the gift God has given—and resist the notion that a private faith needs no church.
