Romans: The Gospel for Everyone — Week 33 - Romans 16:1-27

Romans 16, the close of the series, is Paul's roll call of twenty-seven names. The message draws out a simple truth: names represent people, and people represent relationships —and to be known by name is to be valued. Phoebe likely carried and read this letter; the early church met in homes, never in buildings, because the church has always been the people. The relationships Paul names are rooted in Christ, the kind of connections that would never exist apart from a shared faith. The final warning guards the church against false teaching and division—hold the essentials, allow liberty in non-essentials, love in all things—and the letter ends, fittingly, with glory to God.
