Romans: The Struggle Within

11.23.25 | Dr. David Pitkins This message explores the inner conflict Paul describes in Romans 7: the feeling of wanting to do good but constantly doing the very thing we hate. Using his own personal testimony of life before and after salvation (the "before" being full of lawlessness, and the "after" being a journey of sanctification), Dr. Pitkins explains that this war is a result of the sin nature (the "computer virus" or "moving sidewalk") that infects us all. The solution is not trying harder to follow rules, but realizing we are dead to the Law through Christ and allowing the Holy Spirit to guide us, transforming our desires and pulling us away from the old life toward holiness.
