Romantic Giants Reimagined in Intimate Settings | Spokane News

Classics Northwest is reviving the magic of Romantic concertos in intimate, chamber settings—think Brahms’ double concerto reimagined with just a few musicians. Cellist Zuill Bailey, alongside violinist Yuriy Bekker and pianist Dominic Dousa, leads this bold experiment, championing smaller arrangements that composers themselves often crafted. Adding to the excitement: a brand-new piece, “Visions of Humanity and Unity,” co-commissioned for America’s 250th birthday, weaving together diverse voices to reflect on the Declaration’s legacy. Premiered full-scale last August, this weekend marks its first chamber performance—a move Bailey sees as sparking a new era for Spokane’s arts scene. He’s calling it the “new normal,” urging audiences to expect the unexpected and be ready to be inspired. Listen in comfort:Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
