Rome Was Not Built in a Day: Balancing Duty and Rest in Ministry
from Go When God Calls · host Angie Wheeler Sibia
In this episode, I talk about something that I've been struggling with myself - finding a balance between work and rest in ministry. Recently, I faced some health issues that made me realize the importance of taking time to rest and recharge. I realized that I had been pushing myself too hard, and I needed help from others to take care of the ministry allowing myself to truly rest. I learned that setting realistic goals and delegating tasks is crucial to avoiding burnout. We can't do everything by ourselves, and it's okay to ask for help. Also, regular exercise helps not just physically but mentally too. It's important to take care of our mental wellbeing too, not just the physical aspects. As Christians, we're called to observe Sabbath rest, and it's essential to set aside time for rest and reflection. It's not something we should feel guilty about. God wants us to take care of ourselves so we can take care of others. Throughout my journey, I've learned that it's okay to take things one step at a time. We won't get everything right all at once, and that's okay. It's important to celebrate small victories and keep trusting in God's timing. Remember to take care of yourself, so you can take care of others. Thank you for listening to the Go When God Calls podcast, and I hope you found this episode helpful.
