Rooted deeply in God's Word (Jeremiah 17:7-8)
from God's Word Daily: 5-Minute Devotional · host Grace and Good Works Ministries
One of the greatest pictures of spiritual stability in Scripture is the image of a tree planted by rivers of water. Trees survive storms, droughts, wind, and heat because their life source runs deeper than surface conditions.Jeremiah 17:7-8 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit. The tree still experiences difficult conditions. Heat still comes. Drought still exists. Yet the tree continues flourishing because it has access to a deeper source. This is what God desires for us spiritually.
