Rooted — Week 6

Steve Campbell continued the "Rooted" series by urging the congregation to be "Rooted in Obedience." He opened with a prayer and then focused on John 14:15‑24, explaining that Jesus’ final words to the eleven disciples reveal that love, faith, and obedience unlock special privileges, including the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Using a personal story about assembling an entertainment center, Steve illustrated how following clear directions—whether for furniture or for God—prevents frustration and leads to success. He emphasized that true obedience springs from love for Jesus, not merely fear or duty, and that this love‑obedience relationship invites the promised Paraclete, the Holy Spirit, to guide and empower believers for greater works. Finally, Steve called the listeners to trust God, hand over their lives, and live a life rooted in obedience that can withstand the challenges of the modern world, pointing to the promise that those who obey will see Jesus again and share in His future glory.
