ROOTS - session 1 - Reset Your Life

from CCLF Sundays Hosted by Cariboo Christian Life Fellowship ROOTS

Week 1 — R: Reset Your Life Theme: New life starts with surrender CIA Bible Study ___________ _______________________________ Romans 12:1-2 I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. 2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Our ________________, even from a child, is received from an outside source - good and bad. Remember whose child you are. Believe what God says about you, not what your uncle, dad, mom, the devil, or even you says about you. Key Scriptures: • 2 Corinthians 5:17 • Acts 3:19 • Luke 9:23 Big Truth: Following Jesus means a reset of direction, not just an upgrade to your old life. Teaching: • What repentance really is (turning, change of direction, not just feeling bad) • Surrender vs. behaviour modification • Identity: who you are now in Christ Round Table Discussion Questions: 1. What's the difference between guilt and true repentance? 2. What makes surrender difficult? Practice for the Week: • Write a simple "before and after" of your life with Jesus • Pray a daily surrender prayer: "Jesus, I surrender. Lead my life today."
