Ross-Simmons Returns to Lead Receivers | Syracuse Orangemen Football News

Justus Ross-Simmons is back on the Syracuse football field in jersey number 86, a major boost for the team after a Colorado court ruling granted athletes from the 2022 and 2023 classes an extra year of eligibility. Though he initially said he wasn’t seeking a return, coaches are desperate to win—and Ross-Simmons, who caught 20 passes for 5 touchdowns last season, is now the most experienced receiver on the roster. With two key teammates sidelined by injury and the NCAA’s “five-in-five” rule creating chaos across college sports, Ross-Simmons’ return offers crucial depth and consistency. Quarterback Steve Angeli even pushed hard to bring him back, recognizing his value as a trusted target. Alongside veterans like Tyshawn Russell and other transfers, Ross-Simmons helps rebuild Syracuse’s receiving corps as the season looms.
