Roundtable on Voting

from feminism and stuff · host Anjali Darji

This episode was recorded on September 11, 2021 and a moment of silence was taken in acknowledgement. I got some friends together and in conjunction with the League of Women Voters of Burlington County, we discussed questions and topics pertaining to elections and voting. The questions and topics were: Why or why not do you believe it is important to vote? Would the US benefit from a Democracy Index and should we have one? Gerrymandering: fair or unfair? In a presidential election, do you believe a third party candidate will ever win again? Should our election system remain set up the way that it is? Should our system, if it does suppress third parties, change? Should we abolish the electoral college? Do you believe the electoral college to be fair? Should we use the popular vote instead? Is there another system that you think would work better? What are your positions on mail in ballots? Are they safe and reliable? Do they lead to voter fraud? What are your thoughts on H.R. 4 - John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act if 2021? Is it necessary?
